Justin grew up in Grand Forks, ND. After taking a tour of the XL-93 studios in May of 1993, he decided his main goal was to be a DJ. In February of 1997, Justin accepted the DJ position for “Cosmic Bowling”, a special weekend event at Red Ray Lanes. In October of 1997, Justin surpassed his main goal at the same time and was hired at XL-93. Four years later, he moved to work at the former 80’s-based station “Z-104” (now soft-rock station Breeze 104.3 KZLT), along with News/Talk/Sports 1590 KCNN. He has also worked full-time as a radio personality for Leighton Broadcasting, which acquired the two above stations and joined the hot-country station “97 KYCK,” classic country station “94.7 The Rooster,” and Talk Radio 1310 KNOX. Justin also was the head DJ "The Edge" nightclub.
