Mike was born and raised on a farm in Towner, North Dakota. It was here where his career as a DJ began. During his senior year in high school, he interned for KZZJ. His career continued at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Here he graduated with a degree in Media Communications. While going to Northland, he worked for KSRQ "The Alternative Choice" and K-Lite 104 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. While attending school at Northland, Mike started his career in Mobile Entertainment with the "KSRQ Music Machine". Back in 1999, the hottest radio station in the Red River Valley, "XL-93", hired him. He was employed at "XL-93" and MIX 96.1 for a year and a half. During his time at XL-93 and MIX, Mike formed a partnership with Brass Monkey Productions (which is currently based out of Minneapolis). Mike also has worked at the "El Roco" & "The Edge" nightclubs as both a DJ and MC. From there, Mike transferred outside San Antonio, TX to KRVL (one of the area's largest country stations), where he continued his radio career. Two years later, Mike moved back to Grand Forks, ND and began the area's premiere entertainment and production company "Backspin Productions."
